Product Information

You Should Choose This Kit If You need an all-in-one kit that can boost the 2G and 3G networks from most carriers to multiple phones and data devices simultaneously in your boat.   Will This Work For Me? The Wilson 841246 AG SOHO 60 dB Dual-Band Marine Signal Booster Kit is a powerful signal booster system designed for use in marine applications including boats. It will boost the signal for multiple phones and data devices at the same time.  When there is a medium strength outside signal, this kit can cover areas up to 20 feet or more in front of the inside antenna.  In locations where the existing outside signal is very weak, your phone or data device will have to stay within 5 to 7 feet from the inside antenna to receive the boosted signal.  For larger yachts or if you'd also like to boost the newer 4G LTE networks, contact us for a custom system. The Wilson Marine Kit improves the signals used for both voice calls and Internet access. In areas with a weak signal, the Wilson Marine Kit will reduce dropped calls, improve call clarity and increase Internet data speeds. Supported Carriers All carriers that use the standard dual band frequencies (800 MHz & 1900 MHz) for voice and 3G data, including: AT&T 2G/3G/4G HSPA+ (shows as 4G on your phone) Verizon 2G/3G Sprint 2G/3G US Cellular 2G/3G Alltel 2G/3G T-Mobile 2G only in most locations Major Canadian Carriers 2G/3G All other carriers using 800 MHz and 1900 MHz Will not boost 4G LTE for any carrier Included Items 801245 - AG SOHO 60 dB Dual-Band Amplifier 308430 - Marine Antenna Kit (Marine Antenna, Marine Mount, and 20 ft. RG58U Cable) 301135 - Wide-Band Panel Antenna with N-Female Connector 20' RG58 cable w/ N-Male connectors 859912 - AC to DC 6V Power Supply Installation manual Installation Overview To start, figure out where you want to install the outside antenna. Mounting the outside antenna as high as possible will typically give you the best possible signal. The kit includes a 20 ft. cable for connecting the outside antenna so for sailboats that plan to mount the antenna near the top of the mast, you may need a longer cable. Contact us if you have any questions. Next, consider where you want to mount the inside antenna. The inside antenna must not be facing the outside antenna, otherwise you'll get feedback in the system. You also want as much separation, ideally vertical, as possible between the two antennas. With a moderate strength signal, you may get a boosted signal up to 20 ft. or more from the inside antenna. However, with a very weak existing outside signal, you may need to keep your phone or data device within 5 ft. or less of the inside antenna to receive a boosted signal. So keep that in mind when choosing a place to mount the inside antenna. The last thing to consider is where you can mount the amplifier. It must be mounted in a dry location that also receives some ventilation. The amplifier is the only component that requires power so locate it near an AC outlet (a DC adapter is available). To install the system, follow these steps: Mount the outside antenna in your chosen location. Connect a cable and run from the antenna to the amplifier location. Connect the cable to the Outside port on the amplifier. Connect the second cable to the Inside port. Connect the other end to the inside antenna and mount the antenna. Plug in the amplifier, and you're done. If after plugging in the amplifier, you see 2 green lights, the system is working correctly so you can use your phone like you always do. If you see one or two red lights, it means there's feedback in the system. To fix, increase the separation between the inside and outside antennas, ensure that the inside antenna is not facing the outside antenna, or turn down the gain control on the affected frequency until the red light turns green. If you see an orange/amber light, that means the outside signal from one of the nearby carriers is too strong, so you either have to turn down the gain controls or if you have a strong enough signal already, turn off the signal booster until you get to an area where you need it.
