Regulatory Advisories

This is a CONSUMER device.
BEFORE USE, you MUST REGISTER THIS DEVICE with your wireless provider and have your provider's consent. Most wireless providers consent to the use of signal boosters. Some providers may not consent to the use of this device on their network. If you are unsure, contact your provider. You MUST operate this device with approved antennas and cables as specified by the manufacturer. Antennas MUST be installed at least 20 cm (8 inches) from any person. You MUST cease operating this device immediately if requested by the FCC or a licensed wireless service provider. WARNING. E911 location information may not be provided or may be inaccurate for calls served by using this device.

Please note, the three largest carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon) and more than 90 regional carriers have given blanket consent for use of all boosters certified to the current FCC standards.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What does professional installation actually mean here?

It means someone qualified wires the booster into the vehicle's electrical system rather than plugging it in. The power lead goes to an ignition switched fuse in the fuse box, and on vehicles whose fuse box sits under the hood it runs through the firewall first. The negative lead grounds at a factory grounding point, and the installer supplies the fuse tap, since the type varies by vehicle. Call us before you order if you want to talk it through. We do not install vehicles ourselves, and we can tell you what the job involves so you can line up the right person.

Can it be plugged in instead of hardwired?

Not with what comes in the box. This version ships the hardwire supply, which wires to an ignition switched fuse so the booster runs with the vehicle and the 12 volt outlet stays open. If you want a plug in option instead, the Drive Reach OTR is the same booster with a 12 volt supply.

How is this different from the Drive Reach OTR?

The difference is the power supply, and nothing else. Both run the same amplifier at the same 50 dB of gain, the same OTR antenna, and the same 3-way mount, so the coverage is the same on either one. This one is wired into the vehicle and needs professional installation. The Drive Reach OTR plugs into the 12 volt outlet and most owners install it themselves.

Will it fit our fleet vehicles?

weBoost rates it for classes 1 through 8, which covers everything from a light pickup up to a tractor unit. Some trucks have built in antenna mounting points, and where they do not, the 3-way mount in the box works on vehicles with mirror rails. The antenna also works with third party CB antenna mounts. Send us the vehicle types and we will work through them with you before you order.

Will it work where there is no signal at all?

For most dead stretches, yes. What kills a call is usually signal too thin for a phone rather than a true zero, and thin is what the system is built to work on. A segment with actually zero signal defeats any booster, and drivers will still find those, just far less often than the bars suggest.

Does it work with every carrier?

Yes. It boosts every major US carrier at the same time, which covers Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and US Cellular, along with the smaller networks that run on them. Every phone and hotspot in the cab shares the same boosted signal.

Does each booster have to be registered with the carrier?

Yes, and it is a short form on the carrier's website for each one. The major US carriers have given blanket consent for boosters certified to current FCC standards, so registration is a record, not an approval you wait on.
