Product Overview

The weBoost 477154 Drive Reach OTR Mobile Signal Booster Kit (formerly SKU 472154) has the most powerful uplink and downlink of any weBoost vehicle booster on the market. This means the weBoost Drive Reach OTR booster will provide the largest possible area of boosted signal inside of your truck or vehicle, but more importantly, it has the strongest boosting back to the cell towers, so you can be up to 2x further from the cell towers than the previous model, the Drive 4G-X OTR, and still have reliable calls & fast data speeds.

The weBoost Drive Reach OTR boosts the 2G, 3G, 4G HSPA+, 4G LTE, and 5G networks from the major carriers in the United States and Canada, so you get fewer dropped calls, reliable text messages, and the fastest download speeds possible. The weBoost Drive Reach OTR broadcasts boosted signal wirelessly to your phone so it can support multiple phones and data devices simultaneously.

Coverage Area

The weBoost 472154 Drive Reach OTR's inside coverage area will depend on your existing outside signal strength. In areas where you have a moderate existing outside signal, the Drive Reach will fill a normal vehicle with boosted coverage. As the outside signal gets weaker, the inside coverage area will shrink, until you may have to keep your phone within about 18 inches from the inside antenna in order to take advantage of the boosted signal.

Supported Carriers

The weBoost Drive Reach OTR Signal Booster Kit supports the voice, 3G, 4G LTE, and 5G networks from the major carriers in the United States and Canada. For other locations, please consult the frequencies listed below to see if this product will work for you.

  • AT&T 2G, 3G, 4G HSPA+, 4G LTE & 5G
  • Verizon 2G, 3G, 4G LTE & 5G
  • T-Mobile 2G, 3G, 4G HSPA+ & 4G LTE
  • US Cellular 2G, 3G & 4G LTE
  • All other carriers using 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 1900 MHz, and AWS 1700/2100 MHz frequencies

Please Note: This signal booster will not work in most European, Asian, and African countries because the frequencies used there are different than those boosted by this equipment.

In the Box

  • weBoost Drive Reach Amplifier
  • DC Power Adapter
  • OTR Trucker Antenna with 14' Coax Cable and 3-Way Mount
  • Inside Low-Profile Antenna

Installation Overview

Installing the weBoost Drive Reach OTR Signal Booster is very easy and can usually be done in just a few minutes.

To start, assemble the Trucker Antenna to the size and configuration that you prefer, and mount to the truck with one of the many different mounting options.

Run the 14' antenna cable into the cab, connect the SMB cable adapter, and then attach to the amplifier's Outside Antenna port.

To the inside, connect the inside antenna cable that is attached to the slim low-profile inside antenna.

Locate the inside antenna near where you'll typically be using the phone, for example, in the center console or on the side of the driver's seat. Ensure that the cables and amplifier won't be damaged if the seats are adjusted. Keep inside antenna at least 8 inches from any person and approximately 18 inches from where you typically use your phone.

Connect the DC power adapter to the amplifier and plug in to immediately start receiving boosted signal.

Some providers may not consent to the use of this device on their network. If you are unsure, contact your provider. You MUST operate this device with approved antennas and cables as specified by the manufacturer. Antennas MUST be installed at least 20 cm (8 inches) from any person. You MUST cease operating this device immediately if requested by the FCC or a licensed wireless service provider. WARNING. E911 location information may not be provided or may be inaccurate for calls served by using this device.

Please note, the three largest carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon) and more than 90 regional carriers have given blanket consent for use of all boosters certified to the current FCC standards.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Will it fit my truck?

Almost certainly. Some trucks have built in antenna mounting points, and if yours does not, the 3-way mount in the box works on vehicles with mirror rails. The antenna also works with third party CB antenna mounts. It should sit above the horizontal plane of the vehicle and above any gear riding on top.

How tall does the antenna have to be?

That is yours to choose. Two mast extensions come in the box, 13 inches and 18 inches, and the antenna can stand anywhere from 7.5 to 40 inches depending on how many you use. A taller build gets the antenna above more of what is blocking it, and a shorter one clears more doorways.

Can I lower the antenna for low clearance or for trees?

The mast unscrews, so you can run a shorter configuration or take it down when you need to. One owner in New Mexico mounted his on a camper shell and used a third party rotating mount so he could drop the antenna out of the trees quickly.

Will it work where I have no signal at all?

No. A booster amplifies signal that is already there, so it needs at least a faint one outside to work with. Where your phone shows no service at all, there is nothing for it to amplify.

How close does my phone have to be to the inside antenna?

It depends on the signal outside. With a strong signal outside, the boosted signal fills the cab. With one or two bars outside, keep your phone within about 18 inches of the inside antenna, which is why we tell people to put that antenna where their phone actually rides.

Does it work with my carrier?

Yes. It boosts every major US carrier at the same time. That covers Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and US Cellular, along with the smaller networks that run on them.

Will it boost my hotspot and my laptop?

Yes. A hotspot runs on the cellular network just like your phone, so it gets the same boost, and so does a laptop working through it. Keep the hotspot near the inside antenna the way you would a phone.

Will it drain my truck battery?

It draws its power from the 12 volt outlet, not from your phone. If that outlet stays live with the truck shut off, weBoost recommends switching the amplifier off when you park for more than a day. Wiring it in instead ties it to the ignition, which takes care of the question for you.

Do I need my carrier's permission?

No. The major US carriers have given blanket consent for boosters certified to current FCC standards, and this one is certified. You do have to register it with your carrier, which is a short form on their website.

How do I know it's working?

Park where your signal is weak, check your bars with the amplifier off, then turn it on and watch them for a minute. That is the only fair comparison, because the signal changes as you drive. A green light on the amplifier means it is running normally. A red light means one band shut itself off to avoid interfering with a tower, and the fix is usually more distance between the outside antenna and the inside one.

How is this different from the Drive Reach OTR Fleet?

The difference is the power supply, and nothing else. Both run the same amplifier at the same 50 dB of gain, the same OTR antenna, and the same 3-way mount. This one plugs into the 12 volt outlet. The Fleet version is wired into the vehicle and weBoost requires professional installation for it.

Why buy this here instead of Amazon?

The booster is identical either way, because weBoost makes it and every seller ships the same box. What changes is who you talk to. The same number answers whether you are still deciding, in the middle of the install, or calling back years later.
