Product Overview

The Wilson Connectivity Lightning Arrestor (Model 850050) protects 50 ohm signal booster systems and amplifiers from lightning strikes and power surges that can travel down the coaxial cable. Installed in-line between the outdoor antenna and amplifier, it redirects damaging energy to ground before it can reach your equipment.

This arrestor works with all standard 4G booster setups and supports frequencies up to 5.8 GHz. It’s also compatible with newer 5G systems used in homes, offices, and commercial buildings.

You can install it indoors or outdoors. It’s built with weather-resistant materials, bi-directional protection, and a replaceable gas discharge tube. A grounding screw is included if you want to connect a ground wire, though the wire itself is not included.

Whether you're setting up a home system or a larger commercial install, this compact protector adds reliable surge protection at the cable where it's most needed.

Installation Overview

The lightning arrestor installs in-line between your outdoor antenna and amplifier using standard N-Female connections. It should be placed as close to the building entry point as possible, before the cable reaches your amplifier.

Basic steps:

  1. Disconnect power from your system.
  2. Install the arrestor on the coax cable coming from the outdoor antenna.
  3. Use a separate coaxial jumper cable to connect the other side of the arrestor to the amplifier input.
  4. Use the built-in grounding screw to connect a grounding wire if required. The wire should run to a verified building ground.
  5. Make sure all connections are hand-tight. Do not overtighten.
  6. Reconnect system power and check for signal.

Installer tips:

  • You will need an extra N-Male to N-Male jumper cable to complete the connection between the arrestor and the amplifier.
  • Always ground the arrestor when used outdoors or in high-risk areas.
  • Mount it in a weather-protected spot if possible.
  • Avoid placing it near water runoff points or in direct pooling zones.
  • Do not coil excess coaxial cable near the arrestor or amplifier.

Most installs take under 10 minutes and require only a coax wrench or adjustable pliers.
