weBoost Office 100 vs Office 200

Reliable indoor cellular coverage has become a core requirement for modern workplaces. Cloud-based applications, wireless POS systems, VoIP calling, SMS-based authentication, telehealth tools, and mobile-first workflows all depend on stable LTE/5G service. Yet most commercial buildings-especially those with steel framing, concrete walls, or Low-E glass-block RF signals before they reach employees, customers, or equipment.

weBoost's Office Series was built specifically to solve this problem. The weBoost Office 100 and weBoost Office 200 are both FCC-approved commercial signal boosters, but they're engineered for different priorities. This comparison breaks down the strengths, limitations, and ideal deployment scenarios for each system so business owners, IT managers, and integrators can choose the right booster based on their building, budget, and performance requirements.

Overview of Each System

weBoost Office 100

The weBoost Office 100 is our entry-level commercial solution, designed for small to midsize workspaces up to approximately 8,000 sq. ft. under strong outdoor signal conditions. It provides +72 dB of gain and ships with pre-terminated cables for straightforward installation.

The system offers multiple antenna configurations, allowing businesses to tailor the solution to their specific building layout and construction. Many businesses install the Office 100 themselves, though you can also hire an electrician, AV installer, or other contractor to handle the installation. For small organizations in buildings with moderate to strong outdoor signal levels, the Office 100 offers a cost-efficient and dependable improvement in call reliability and data throughput.

Common use cases include:

  • Small offices and coworking suites
  • Retail shops and restaurants
  • Small warehouses or workshops
  • Clinics and single-suite professional buildings

weBoost Office 200

The weBoost Office 200 is a more robust commercial amplifier, engineered for larger offices and commercial facilities up to approximately 35,000 sq. ft. While it also provides +72 dB gain, the amplifier delivers higher uplink power, allowing better reach back to distant cell towers.

One of the key differentiators is the LCD touchscreen display. This provides real-time feedback on system performance-including signal strength, system status, and detailed metrics for each frequency band such as uplink and downlink power. If a band is being throttled due to strong incoming signal, you'll see exactly how much it's being adjusted.

If there's an issue like oscillation, the screen displays a warning and tells you how to fix it. You can even turn off specific bands entirely if needed, giving you more control in complex RF environments. The touchscreen makes setup easier, simplifies troubleshooting, and gives you confidence that your system is running optimally. It's one of the best tools we've seen built into a commercial cell booster.

The Office 200 is our best-selling small to mid-sized business booster, and it has our lowest return rate of any commercial product we sell.

Ideal environments include:

  • Multi-floor offices
  • Corporate suites and enterprise environments
  • Medical facilities
  • Large retail footprints
  • Manufacturing floors and logistics operations
  • Any business where cell signal reliability is mission-critical

Important: These coverage ratings assume strong existing outdoor signal. With weaker outdoor signal, coverage will be reduced and you may only be able to use one or two antennas, as more could result in too much signal loss.

Actual coverage also varies by building materials. Interior walls and floors made of brick, block, metal, or containing metal equipment and machinery will inhibit signal propagation. Open floor layouts allow signal to spread more easily, giving you more coverage from each antenna.

Antenna Options

Both the Office 100 and Office 200 offer the same antenna options, allowing you to configure the system for your specific building and signal environment.

Outside antenna choices:

  • Standard omnidirectional
  • Yagi (directional)
  • LPDA / Log Periodic Dipole Antenna (directional)
  • High-gain omnidirectional

Inside antenna choices:

  • Panel antenna
  • Standard dome antenna
  • Low-profile, high-gain dome antenna

Both systems support up to four inside antennas. However, for the Office 100, we typically recommend one to two inside antennas. If you're considering more than two antennas, the Office 200 is the better choice.

System Power and Gain

Both systems have an FCC-maximum +72 dB gain, but the Office 200 delivers higher uplink power. This allows it to maintain a more reliable connection back to cell towers, especially in fringe or rural locations where towers are farther away. The stronger uplink power provides measurable improvements in upload speeds and call stability-critical for businesses relying on VoIP or cloud collaboration tools.

Installation

Installation is similar for both systems. Both come with pre-terminated cables (either 75 or 60 feet depending on the antenna run), and both involve mounting antennas, running cables, and connecting everything to the amplifier. If you're using a directional outside antenna, aiming is the same regardless of which amplifier you choose.

Many businesses install either system themselves. If you prefer to have it installed for you, an electrician, AV installer, or any contractor who can pull cable and mount components can handle the job. (Note: We do not offer professional installation with the Office 100 or Office 200. If you need a solution that includes installation, ask us about the Office 300.)

If you need custom cable runs beyond the included lengths, we recommend keeping any single cable run under 100 feet to minimize signal loss.

Price and Value

Pricing varies based on the type of antennas and the number of inside antennas you choose. The Office 100 starts at $1,299.99, while the Office 200 starts at approximately $1,699.99, about $400 more.

That difference is modest in the context of a commercial installation, and the Office 200's track record speaks for itself: it's our most popular booster and has our lowest return rate. For businesses where reliable connectivity matters, the slightly higher investment is easily justified.

Long-term ROI factors:

  • Elimination of dropped calls and missed text messages
  • Faster upload and download speeds for data-dependent applications
  • Reliable signal across all major carriers
  • Improved customer and employee satisfaction
  • Emergency preparedness-ensuring employees and customers can be reached if something happens

Real-World Performance and User Feedback

Business feedback across forums, reviews, and case studies shows clear usage patterns:

Office 100

In small clinics or single-suite retail spaces, users report:

  • Eliminated dropped calls
  • 2-3× improvement in LTE/5G data speeds
  • Stronger indoor carrier consistency
  • Quick, same-day installation

Typical example: A 3,500 sq. ft. dental office saw upload speeds stabilize and reception improve from 0-1 bars to 3-4 bars across the entire suite.

Office 200

In multi-suite and multi-floor offices, users report:

  • Stable coverage even 100+ feet from the nearest antenna
  • Strong performance in rooms surrounded by concrete or metal
  • Consistent 50-200 Mbps download speeds depending on tower load
  • Reliable coverage for 25-100+ active device users

Typical example: A 20,000 sq. ft. co-working space reported uniform 5G coverage after deploying a four-antenna Office 200 layout, eliminating dead zones around interior meeting rooms.
