Introducing the Drive Reach Flex Fleet

Plenty of fleet vehicles cannot take a hole in the roof. A lease forbids it, or the vehicle goes back to the leasing company or to auction and nobody wants to explain the hole. None of that does anything about the rural stretches where a driver loses signal, and all of it takes a drilled antenna mount off the table.

The Drive Reach Flex Fleet is a cell signal booster for a fleet that cannot drill. Its outside antenna mounts with a magnet rather than through a hole, and an aluminum roof takes a steel plate from the box first, so the magnet has something to work on. At the end of the term the antenna comes off, the cable comes back out the way it went in, and the roof goes back to the leasing company with nothing done to it.

Inside the case it is the same booster the drilled version runs, the same model at the same gain, so what a driver's phone does out on a weak stretch does not depend on which mount is holding the antenna. The van you had to leave alone performs like the truck you were free to drill.

Because the antenna comes off and the box includes a power supply for the 12 volt outlet as well as the hardwire one, this is also the one to put in a single vehicle first. Run it on the worst route you have, see what it does, and decide about the rest of the fleet from there. Plan on an installer either way, because the power side of this one is professional work. How It Works

Each of the three pieces below does a different job, and where you put it decides how well the next one works.

The booster also works in reverse. The inside antenna receives signal from the devices in the vehicle, the amp boosts it up, and then the outside antenna broadcasts the strong signal back to the distant cell towers. This gives you a strong, reliable two-way connection to the cell tower.

How the Installation Process Works

What calls for a professional here is the power wiring, not the antenna. Nothing gets drilled at any point, and the cable reaches the cab through a door or the third brake light.

The Antenna on the Roof

It goes near the center, at least 12 inches from any other antenna and at least 6 inches from any window. The magnet mount holds it to a steel roof, and on an aluminum vehicle the mounting plate in the box goes down first to give the magnet something to hold to.

The Cable In Without Drilling

The cable is built to be shut in most vehicle doors without damage. The other route is down through the third brake light, then under the headliner and along the pillar to the amplifier.

The Inside Antenna Where the Phone Rides

It goes on the dash or the side of the seat, on the included Velcro or adhesive strip, between 18 and 36 inches from where the phone will actually be. In a weak signal area the short end of that range is the one to use. It has to stay at least 8 inches from any person.

The Amplifier Somewhere With Air Flow

The bracket takes Velcro strips, screws, or zip ties, and the amplifier usually ends up behind or under a seat. Both antenna cables go on the amplifier from there.

Power Wired In or Plugged In

The hardwire supply runs to an ignition-switched fuse so the booster stops once the vehicle is off, with the negative lead on a factory grounding point. The other option is the 12 volt plug. Switch it off if that outlet stays live and the vehicle sits for more than a day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it work with our carrier?

Yes. It boosts every major US carrier at the same time. That covers Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and US Cellular, along with the smaller networks that run on them. A fleet split across three carriers works off the same booster in every vehicle.

Will it work where there is no signal at all?

Usually it will. Weak coverage is exactly what a booster is for, and the magnet antenna on the roof receives signal that never makes it into the cab on its own. If a route truly leaves coverage behind, with no signal left to receive, then nothing comes through, and that is true of every booster sold.

Does anything get drilled?

No. The magnet holds the antenna to the roof and the cable comes in through a door seal or the third brake light. The power wiring is the professional part, and the installer is yours to arrange.

Will it help our GPS trackers and ELDs?

It boosts them the same way it boosts a phone. A cellular GPS tracker or ELD rides the same boosted signal as the driver's phone, so vehicles keep reporting from the weak signal stretches that used to lose them. The logging and reporting are untouched. It is the signal that improves.

Does every booster have to be registered?

Yes. The major US carriers have given blanket consent for boosters certified to current FCC standards, and this one is certified, so registering is a short form on the carrier's own site rather than an approval you wait on.

Which power supply should the installer use?

Both ship in the box, and each suits a different setup. The hardwire supply goes to an ignition-switched fuse and shuts the booster down with the vehicle. The 12 volt plug is the portable option, and if a vehicle sits more than a day with a live outlet, use the switch on the cord.

Can we move it between vehicles?

More easily than the drilled version. The antenna lifts off with the magnet and the cable pulls back out. If the installer used the hardwire supply that part stays with the vehicle, though the 12 volt plug in the box means the rest of the system can move on its own.

Is it weaker than the Drive Reach Fleet?

No. Both run the same amplifier, model 460061, at the same 50 dB of gain, with the same dimensions, weight, and power draw. It costs a little more because the magnet mount, the aluminum mounting plate, and the second power supply all come in the box, and it leaves out the extension cable the Drive Reach Fleet includes.

What is the warranty on a company vehicle?

Two years on the hardware, and the warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials. Returns with us are 90 days.

Why buy this here instead of a marketplace?
