Product Overview

The Wilson Signal Booster Reach Extreme Marine Kit is built for boaters who want reliable calling and usable data while they are on the water. It combines the weBoost Drive Reach 50 dB mobile amplifier, a dedicated outside marine antenna, and an inside panel antenna to create a simple, proven layout that works on real boats. The system is wireless, so you do not dock your phone. It improves the signal in the cabin area and can help multiple phones and hotspots at the same time.

What sets this kit apart is uplink power. The Drive Reach pushes a much stronger return signal back to shore than older mobile amps, about twice the Drive X. That extra push helps your calls hold and your data sessions stay alive as you work your way away from the coastline. It still needs at least some outside signal at the antenna. No booster can create signal where none exists.

In day to day use, you mount the marine antenna as high and clear as you can, run the cables to the amplifier, and place the panel antenna near where you use devices most. With a decent outside signal you can roam a few feet from the panel and stay connected. When the outside signal is weak, plan to keep your phone or hotspot close to the panel. Many owners park a hotspot near the panel and use Wi Fi around the cabin, or keep a phone by the panel and use a Bluetooth headset for hands free calling.

The kit supports 2G, 3G, 4G LTE, and 5G on the major carriers in North America. It works wirelessly with phones, hotspots, and other cellular devices, so there is nothing special to pair or plug in. If you want dependable shore side connectivity in a clean, single amplifier package, this is a solid fit for weekend cruisers, anglers, liveaboards, and small commercial operators.

Coverage Area & Supported Carriers

The strength of your outside signal, measured where you mount the antenna, affects how much indoor coverage the system provides. Use the chart below for general guidance:

Coverage Estimates

  • Strong 5 Bars: Up to 6 feet from the inside antenna
  • Medium 3 to 4 Bars: A few feet away
  • Weak 1 to 2 Bars: Around 18 inches
  • None 0 Bars: No coverage

Please note: Many factors impact indoor coverage, so results may vary.

Supported Devices: All phones, hotspots, and cellular data devices

Supported Networks: 4G LTE and 5G on FCC approved bands, plus legacy 2G and 3G where still available

Frequencies Boosted: 700, 800, 1900, and 1700 2100 MHz

Carriers: Works with Verizon, AT and T, T Mobile, and UScellular. Also supports smaller carriers and MVNOs

Note: This booster may not work in many countries in Europe, Asia, or Africa due to different frequency bands

Installation Overview

Start with a quick layout. The marine antenna goes outside up high. Its attached cable runs to the amplifier Outside Antenna port. The inside panel antenna connects to the amplifier Inside Antenna port using the included cable. Mount the panel where you actually use phones and hotspots. Power the amplifier and check results.

Mount the outside antenna as high and as clear as you can. A radar arch, hardtop, or a mast mount above the cabin line usually works well. Keep it a few feet away from other antennas and metal structures when possible. If you have VHF or GPS gear nearby, give everything some breathing room and avoid direct side by side placement.

Plan a clean cable run. Follow existing wire paths or conduit where available and avoid sharp bends. Use drip loops before the cable enters the cabin so water does not travel along the jacket. Hand tighten all connectors. Do not use pliers on the small connectors. Leave a little service slack near the amplifier but do not coil extra cable in a tight loop.

Place the amplifier in a dry, ventilated spot that you can reach for service. Many owners choose an electronics cabinet or under a console. Secure it so it does not move underway. Provide a switched power feed so you can turn the system off when you do not need it.

Mount the inside panel antenna at head height or slightly above in the space where you want coverage. Point the face of the panel toward the area where devices will sit or where you will stand during calls. For data use, parking a hotspot near the panel gives the best speeds. For voice, keep your phone near the panel and use a Bluetooth headset to walk around.

Give the antennas space from each other. The outside antenna and the inside panel should not be close. More separation is better. Use vertical and horizontal distance. If the system shows oscillation or keeps reducing gain, increase the separation or move the panel farther inside.

Fine tune before you button everything up. Try two or three outdoor mounting spots, even if they are only a few feet apart. Check bars and data speed with the panel temporarily taped in place. Pick the location that gives the strongest outside reading and the most stable indoor results.

Power considerations are simple. The Drive Reach has modest draw for a mobile amplifier. Many boaters leave it on while underway and switch it off at anchor. Tie into a clean, fused circuit and confirm polarity before power up.

DIY is very doable for most owners who are comfortable pulling a cable and mounting two antennas. If you prefer a faster turn, a marine electronics shop can complete the install quickly.
