How It Works
Each of the three pieces below does a different job, and where you put it decides how well the next one works.
The Outside AntennaReceives signal from distant cell towers and passes it over a cable to the amplifier.
The AmplifierReceives the signal from the outside antenna, boosts it significantly, then passes it to the inside antenna.
The Inside AntennaBroadcasts the boosted signal throughout the space for clear calls, reliable texts, and fast data.
The booster also works in reverse. The inside antenna receives signal from the devices in the vehicle, the amp boosts it up, and then the outside antenna broadcasts the strong signal back to the distant cell towers. This gives you a strong, reliable two-way connection to the cell tower.
How Much Coverage Should You Expect?
How much coverage you get depends on the signal you already have outside. The stronger it is out there, the farther the boosted signal carries inside.
How the Installation Process Works
The steps below are the whole job, and the order matters, because the antenna is assembled before it goes on the truck.
Build the Antenna to the Height You Need
The two mast extensions are 13 inches and 18 inches, so the antenna can stand anywhere from 7.5 to 40 inches. Run the coax up through the extensions and out through the side exit adapter first, then put thread locker on the metal thread points only and never on the plastic body. The spring is optional and cannot be used with both extensions at once.
Mount It Above Everything Else on the Truck
Some trucks have built in antenna mounting points. If yours does not, the included 3-way mount works on vehicles with mirror rails, and the antenna also works with third party CB antenna mounts. It belongs above the roofline and clear of any gear riding on top. The coax is strong enough to be shut in most vehicle doors, so getting it into the cab usually needs no other route.
Set the Inside Antenna Where You Use Your Phone
It goes on the dash or the side of the seat, held by the Velcro strips in the box. Put it near where your phone actually rides, close enough that the phone sits in the boosted signal and not so close that it is stacked on top of it. It also has to stay at least 8 inches from any person.
Put the Amplifier Somewhere With Air Around It
It goes behind or under a seat, and the included bracket holds with Velcro strips, screws, or zip ties. Run both cables so nothing gets pinched when the seats move, then connect the outside antenna cable to the port marked Outside Antenna and the inside one to the port marked Inside Antenna.
Plug the Amplifier Into the 12 Volt Outlet
The included power supply goes into the same outlet you charge a phone from. If that outlet stays live with the truck shut off, switch the amplifier off when you park for more than a day, so it does not pull on the battery.
