You Should Choose This Kit If You need an all in one direct-connect solution to provide boosted voice calls and 3G data for one phone or data device. The SIGNALBOOST Direct-Connect Kit comes with a 4 in. magnetic-mount antenna. When used in a vehicle, the antenna sticks to the roof of your vehicle and includes a cable that runs in through a door and connects to the SIGNALBOOST Amplifier. It is powered using a 12V adapter that plugs into a cigarette lighter or 12V power port. To use the SIGNALBOOST Kit in a home or office, you'll need the SIGNALBOOST Home Accessory Kit which has an AC power adapter and window mount antenna bracket. The SIGNALBOOST Direct-Connect Kit includes a small patch antenna that must be touching your phone or data device in order for it to receive the boosted signal.  You can keep them together using velcro or by placing a rubber band around the phone and antenna to hold them together. Alternatively, if your phone or data device has an external antenna port, you can purchase a direct-connect phone adapter cable plus the extension cable and connect the amplifier directly to your device giving you the best signal possible. Will This Work For Me? The SIGNALBOOST Direct-Connect Kit is our mid-level vehicle signal booster. The SIGNALBOOST Direct-Connect Kit will only work with one phone at a time. The SIGNALBOOST Direct-Connect Kit improves the signals used for both voice calls and Internet access. In areas with a weak signal, the SIGNALBOOST Direct-Connect Kit will reduce dropped calls, improve call clarity and increase Internet data speeds. If you're frequently in areas where you get no service at all, a more powerful signal booster like our In-Vehicle Kit may be necessary. The most popular is the SIGNALBOOST Home Accessory Kit for using the system in a home or office. To power the SIGNALBOOST Amplifier, you can use the included DC Power Adapter or the optional AC Power Adapter.  To directly connect it to your phone or data device, you can get a direct-connect phone adapter cable plus the extension cable.  And for better overall performance, a 12" antenna is available that's twice as powerful as the included 4" antenna. Installation Overview Installing the SIGNALBOOST Direct-Connect Kit is very easy and because nothing is permanent, it can be moved from one vehicle to another, or brought inside a home or office for use (with optional Home Accessory Kit). Mount the included antenna on the roof the the vehicle. Route the attached coax cable in through a door opening. To protect the cable, run it under the door seal. Connect the cable to the SIGNALBOOST Amplifier. Plug the ultra-slim antenna cable into the Inside Antenna port on the amplifier. Then just plug in the included 12V power supply and connect it to the SIGNALBOOST Amplifier. When touch your phone to the ultra slim antenna, you should see a stronger signal (it may take up to 30 seconds for your phone's signal strength display to update). If you already have a strong outside signal, you won't see any benefit from the SIGNALBOOST so try it in a place where you typically have signal trouble.
